Kananaskis Outfitters rents canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), bikes, and other outdoor gear for lake days, trail rides, and family adventures.

Hourly canoe, kayak, and SUP rentals are available at the Kananaskis Boathouse location at the Barrier Lake Day Use Area on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bikes, inflatable kayaks, SUPs, canoes, and other select gear can be reserved online for pickup from our Kananaskis Village location.

Please note:

Same-day reservations are not available online; call for availability.

The Kananaskis Boathouse

Visit our Kananaskis Boathouse location at the Barrier Lake Day Use Area. These boats are available on a first-come, first-served basis only.

Lakeside rentals are perfect for day trips, young families, or anyone who simply wants to try out a new piece of equipment! Rent a boat for an hour or two and paddle around beautiful Barrier Lake! It’s an easy and fun way to spend the afternoon on the water. All Lake Rentals must remain at Barrier Lake.

Boat & SUP Rentals for Self-Transport

Planning a full day on the water or a longer stay in Kananaskis? Reserve a canoe, inflatable kayak, or stand-up paddleboard from our Kananaskis Village location and take it with you.

These rentals are ideal for groups, families, and visitors who want the flexibility to explore more of Kananaskis Country beyond Barrier Lake. Pick up your gear from our shop, transport it safely with your own vehicle, and enjoy more time on the water at your own pace.

Booking note: These rentals are different from our hourly Barrier Lake rentals, which are first-come, first-served and must stay at Barrier Lake.

Reserve Your Equipment In Advance

To reserve equipment please click on the “Reserve Your Gear” button next to the gear price list. Pick the date you would like, then the item you would like. Fill in the appropriate forms and pay using any major credit card. Viola! Your equipment will be waiting for you on the date and time you’ve requested. Please note for 1 day rentals: equipment must be returned on the day it is picked up.

Online reservations are not available for the day of, please call for availability or to make same-day reservations.

Cancellations

Cancellations made with more than 72 hours’ notice are refundable in full less a $15 administration fee. Cancellations made within the 72-hour window are not refundable. Reservations may not be rescheduled inside the 72-hour window due to inclement weather.

Boats at Barrier Lake are rented on a first come first served basis only.
