Guided Hikes

This season we are excited to offer a series of guided hikes. On each hike, you will explore a breathtaking and fascinating area of Kananaskis. You can sign up with a couple of friends or come out on your own and make new friends! Some of the hikes will be done workshop style, where you will get to hike while learning in a hands-on environment.

Rocky Mountain Wildflower Hike:

Come out and take in the splendor of spring in the Rocky Mountains, where the mountain slopes are blanketed in brightly coloured wildflowers. Make sure to bring your camera on this scenic hike!

Wildlife Tracking 101

Come out and learn the art of tracking! Tracking, and being able to identify animal signs in the forest will add a new level of enjoyment to every hike to do! You will hike with an experienced interpretive guide and learn to recognize and identify tracks and scat. This hike is perfect for people off all ages!

Rocky Mountain Wild Edibles 

One of the most frequently asked questions for any guide is ‘Can I eat it?’ We have decided to answer this question in the form of a workshop. You will join a knowledgeable guide on a scenic hike where you learn all about the wild edibles that grow abundantly in the Kananaskis area.

Private Guided Hikes


Private guided hikes are also available! We can do completely customized tours for groups of all sizes. Give us a call to discuss what hike would be right for you! Private tours need to be booked in advance to ensure availability of a guide.

Half day (2-3 hr)

Mountain Biking

Kananaskis has some of the best mountain biking in the Rockies. We’ll start off with a skills clinic to hone the group’s abilities, then we’ll head out on the trail and have even more fun!

Mountain bike and helmet may be rented. Please inform us if you will need equipment upon booking your lesson.

Voyageur Canoe

Enjoy a day in a Voyageur Canoe!

We are very excited to be offering an authentically Canadian experience this summer: Voyageur Canoe tours. This boat is 25′ long and holds 9 adult guests. You will start your tour with a short paddling lesson, emphasizing working together as a team. While you explore Barrier Lake your guide will recount the Voyageur days and the significance of these explorers to Western Canada.

Voyageur Canoe Excursions:

Excursions will be offered every Sunday, starting June 26th, 2016 and running until August 28th, 2016. Tours will depart at 10:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm.


Adults: $45.00 +GST

Youth (10-16): $30.00 +GST

Children (6-9): $20.00 +GST

Tots (Less than 5 years old): Free

Space is limited, so please call to book in advance!


Private Voyageur Canoe Excursion:

A two hour excursion costs $495 and $625 for a three+ hour excursion. This includes all necessary safety equipment, certified guide and bottled water.

No paddling experience is necessary. Please book in advance.

Learn to SUP on Barrier Lake

Have you always wanted to learn how to Stand Up Paddleboard? Now is your chance! Come to Kananaskis, the Valley of Adventure and learn the art of paddling on a scenic lake surrounded by mountains. Your certified SUP instructor will teach you the basics and then take you on a scenic tour of the lake.

$69.00/person. Rate includes SUP rental along with life jacket and wetsuit. Lessons will be limited to 6 people per lesson, so please book in advance. Lessons available on alternate dates for groups upon request.

Flat Water Canoeing

Enjoy a day of paddling on one of Kananaskis’ crystal blue lakes. Let the serene mountain landscapes and peaceful surroundings of Kananaskis Provincial Park melt away the stress in your life. The experience starts off with a simple paddling lesson close to shore then you embark on your journey with the comfort, convenience, knowledge and expertise of a Paddle Canada Certified Canoe instructor. Once on the water, we will talk about the history of the area and our majestic lakes. Want a longer day on the water? Why not make it full day trip with a lake side lunch.
